Hi Nick; The belt adjustment is really not so critical. A little loose is better than a little tight. If you have about 1/2" up and down with the wheels on the ground, you're close. What is really important is pulley alignment so the belt is not rubbing the sides of the pulleys and wearing out too fast. Frank M.
